Our display at the SE Area Artwalk in Portland, OR on March 1-2, 2008 was a joint effort between PNWS and the Fire & Earth Art Center, an arts education facility. Initially it was proposed by the Artwalk organization that PNWS mount a group show for the March 1 and 2, 2008 Artwalk. After reviewing several sites The Fire and Earth Art Center offered us a space. They had an unwalled area and would provide construction materials if PNWS could provide volunteer labor to prepare the space. Over several weekends prior to the show, studwalls were built and covered, windows cleaned and the floor patched and painted. Pizza and beer were consumed. The result was well beyond our expectations.

Some twenty four sculptors participated in the show and preparation of the space. Were able to show works in media from sand to stainless steel. In addition the space itself can now serve as a classroom space for future cooperative events between PNWS and Fire & Art Center.
