My illuminated sculptures are made of wood or reed covered with laminated paper. They are sturdy and durable although they appear delicate. Painting for years focusing on back-lit images in watercolor has led me to work with light itself. I find inspiration for my organic shapes in our plant collectors garden. The engineering of the armature form is challenging and fun while the layering of the paper is time consuming and meditative. The largest piece is 8ft. tall and smallest 10".In addition I am an artist in residence in schools specializing in large murals in a variety of media.
