One of the country's leading medalic sculptors, Heidi Wastweet balances her studio between commissioned medallions, her own art medals and gallery bound bronze relief panels. The focus of her personal work is communication through the human form with an emphasis on texture and meticulous detail. Expressive symbols weave stories that are as individual as the viewers' interpretations, raising questions as much as offering answers. Many pieces are inspired by the idea of uncovering a unknown element of well known myths and challenging conventional wisdom.

She received no formal training but prefers to guide her own studies through books, museums and interactions with other artists. Born in California and raised in North Idaho, she has based her studio in Seattle since 2003.

Heidi is represented by the Art Spirit Gallery in Coeur d'Alene Idaho, Portals LTD in Chicago and Zado Gallery in Portland Oregon. She is a member of the National Sculpture Society, Pacific Northwest Sculptors and is acting treasurer for the American Medalic Sculpture Association.
