Working in clay, I try to capture the essence of an animal; be it the power and sensuality of a bull, the grace of a horse, or the fragility and innocence of a bird. I believe animals can stir emotions in the viewer in ways the human figure cannot. Having grown up around animals and riding horses since I was able to walk, I have developed a deep appreciation for, and connection to them.

I was born in Vancouver, Washington where I was raised to appreciate and create art. I majored in sculpture at the University of Washington in 2006.
